Terms & Conditions for use of the website

The purpose of the Website is to provide a single point of access to all of the Tees Valley Museum (otherwise called 'The Partners') Collections.

The main Partners consist of the following services.

  • Darlington Museums
  • Hartlepool Museums
  • Middlesbrough Museums & Galleries
  • Redcar and Cleveland Museums
  • Stockton Museums

The materials found on the Website may not be posted or in any way mirrored on the WWW or any other part of the Internet except at the following publication site: http://www.teesmuseums.com or as part of other registered domain names belonging to the Partners.

Access to and use of this website, ie, The Tees Valley Museums Single Point of Access is provided subject to the following terms and conditions:

Permitted and Prohibited Use of Materials on the Website

All the text and images on the Website are protected by internationally recognised laws. Each Partner hereby asserts any intellectual property rights that it may have, including copyright, database rights and any rights in compilations in and to the materials on the Website. The Partners have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that the use of others text and images is done in accordance with relevant legislative provisions.

Permission is hereby granted, without agreement and without licence or royalty fees, to use and to download a single copy of the Materials for private study and research, provided that usage and copying is for personal non-commercial purposes only and not for any commercial advantage and that any copyright notice within the Materials and the terms of use herein appear in any copy of the Materials. To use and copy the Materials otherwise requires specific written permission from the relevant Partner and/or the original copyright holder(s) as identified.

Except as permitted above, the User undertakes not to copy, reproduce, publish, store in any medium (including extraction into any other website, database, compilation, or computer programme), generate collections, distribute, transmit, retransmit, modify, manipulate, alter, rent, lease, lend, broadcast or show any part of the Website without the prior written permission of the Partners.

Any further use may infringe copyright and moral rights and may attract civil remedies and criminal penalties. The Website is regularly monitored for misappropriate access, other websites and publications in all mediums and utilizes digital watermarking to assist in the tracing of illegal image use and will take action for infringement of copyright and breach of the terms of use herein.

The User warrants to the Partners that the User will not infringe the partners intellectual property rights nor will the User breach the intellectual property rights of any third party. If the User wishes to copy or reproduce any part of the Materials, the User agrees to contact the relevant Partner to obtain permission to do so.

Trademarks

The trademarks of each Partner and any third party displayed on the Website are the registered and unregistered trademarks of the same. Nothing contained in the website shall be taken, constructed and/or the granting of any licence or right to use the trademarks without prior written permission of the owner. The User's use of any trademarks on the Website is strictly prohibited.

Warranty Disclaimer

The Partners provide the Materials contained on the Website “as is” without warranty of any kind either express or implied including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

In no event shall the Partners be liable to any party for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of the Materials whether or not amended by third parties.

Linked Sites and Resources

The Website may contain links to third party websites (“Linked Sites”). The Linked Sites may not be owned or controlled by the Partners and as such the Partners are not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any changes or updates to a Linked Site. The Partners are not responsible  if the Linked Site is not working properly. The Partners provide these links to the User only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement of any site or any association with its operators. The User is responsible for viewing and abiding by the privacy, copyright and terms and conditions posted at the Linked Sites.

Ammendments and Changes

The Partners reserve the right to change or amend the terms, conditions and notices under which the Website is held. The User is responsible for reviewing these terms and conditions and notices. The User’s viewing and/or use of these materials constitutes the User’s agreement to all such terms, conditions and notices.

If these Terms of Use are not accepted in full, the User does not have permission to access the contents of the Website and therefore should cease using the Website immediately.

Definitions

    • means all or any information, artwork, text, video, audio, animation or picture files contained and comprised in the Website; references to the Materials shall mean the whole or any part thereof.

    • means Each of the Tees Valley Museum Partners as described;

  • trademarks,
    • shall be deemed to include all logos, shields and service marks.
