BRIEF-DESCRIPTION
small ceramic teapot with deep blue glaze. A raised scalloped edge is found on the neck of the teapot, providing a means of supporting and surrounding the lid, the lid is dome shaped with a small rounded pyramid shape to lift the lid. The handle has two ridged bands, the spout is plain. Lines of gilding have been applied to various areas of the teapot and lid. An overglaze tinted transfer print of Redcar promenade has been applied to one side of the teapot and is bordered with a band of gilding. Printed on the base 'Made in Germany.' This item was grant aid funded by , purchase assisted by V and A purchase Grant Fund.

the collection was made over 25 years and consists of rare and good quality pictorial china all relating to Redcar. Typical of the range of souvenir once common in resorts like Redcar. It was felt the purchase would compliment the museums collection of mainly crested china souvenir ware.
